Went to SLP Homecoming and Isaac wanted to sport his school colors!

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Part of Isaac's birthday gift from Mom and Dad.
Customized Zigtech Shark shoes.
He created these shoes online
and put his name on them . .
red "BLAZE"

He is named Red Blaze by Scott's buddy Matt.
Matt came over when Isaac was about 4.
Isaac was riding a red bike with a red helmet and
happened to be wearing red shorts and red shirt.
If you know Isaac, you know that he is full speed on his bike.
Even at 4.
Well, from then on Matt called him the "Red Blaze."
The name fit and has stuck to this day.

Kendrick turned 11!
He tried to tell me that because 11 is a palindrome that he should have another "special" birthday party like when he turned "double digits" like last year.
It worked once and I had 10 kids sleep over,
but after last year we got smart.
He realized I wasn't buying it.
Only Kendrick would:
1) come up with the word palindrome and
2) try and get me to have another 10 kids sleep over.
That sums him up.
Smart, funny, kind, clever and witty.
11 is making him grow up so quickly.
I am really loving this age.
He is such a great kid and I am so happy he is mine.
I tell him that daily!!!
If you know Kendrick, you know that he reads every card. . . word for word.
At his birthday party 10 of the kids lost interest fast and decided to have a game of tackle football . . . I kinda didn't blame them, but then there were the 10 that listened to every card.
He got mostly money, but some gifts.
Notice he got the same game Isaac did.
He was thrilled to say the least.
I think the 48 hours that he didn't have it
and Isaac did was pure torture!
Grandma Penny made yet another cake.
4 cakes in 3 days.
I think she was up to her eyeball in sugar.
When it came time to blow out the candles,
Lauren had to help.
Such a nice brother to let her!
It was another great birthday!

We had the boys' birthday parties at a nearby hotel pool.
It worked great as we had Isaac's from 4-6:00 and Kendrick's from 6-8:00
which provided us with 4 hours of crazy fun!
Isaac wanted a dirtbike cake.
Of course Grandma came up with an amazing idea.
The cake was exactly what he wanted.
There was 13 boys at Isaac's party,
but there was no way I was going to get them in one picture. . .
They enjoyed the hot tube and swimming in the pool.
They didn't get too rough, but an hour of swimming was plenty of time.
Then it was time for dinner, presents and cake.
This was the best I could do to get all the boys in one picture.
They are an energetic group of boys!
Isaac got some fun gifts and had a blast.

Then it was time for Kendrick's party.
Grandma Penny made him a basketball cake.
They swam first.
I had bought about 20 of those water balls thinking it was a GREAT idea.
Well, they were using the whole pool area for a water dodge ball game.
So, we decided to collect them and have them jump for them
in an effort to save the grandma and her grandkids
that were just there to swim from the hotel from the line of fire.
The boys had a great time.
Then on to dinner, presents and cake.
We did walking tacos and they were a HIT!
Kendrick got lots of candy, giftcards and . . .
CASH.
There were almost 20 boys.
A GREAT group of boys!
It was a another crazy, but fun party.

Both boys want to do it again next year. . .
we'll see :)

Isaac turned 8 today.
He is my favorite 8-year-old.
He is kind, fun, hardworking, loving and mine.

I interviewed him for fun and these were his answers:
Favorite color - Orange
Favorite food - tatortot hotdish
Favorite sport - soccer (the only sport he is NOT in, ugh)
What he wants to be when he grows up - work at TIES.
Isaac got a DS game that he has been wanting -
you gotta look at his brother expression in the back. . . priceless.
He was sorta kidding with the face as he knew he was getting the game,
because he wanted the game too and his b-day isn't for 2 days.
Scott and I got a speedometer installed on Isaac's bike.
If you know Isaac you know that he knows one speed - FAST.
He could wait to try it out so he cruised around the block quick.

Grandma made his cake and it was delicious, as ususal.
Isaac got this lego set for his birthday.
He disappeared . . . and was building it before he had to go to bed.
It was a great day.
Happy Birthday, Isaac.
Love you buddy!!!!

Nothing like listening to Kendrick practice his saxophone. . with just the mouthpiece.
It is music to my ears.
He needs to get used to just using the reed.
Supposed to do this 15 minutes a day!!!

Today kicked off the football season.  Unfortunately the boys' games were at the same time so I only got to see Isaac play.  He had some great defense moves . . .
and then got to be the running back. . . he had a GREAT game!  They won 13-0.
Go Panthers!

Lauren had her preschool orientation.  She was a little hesitant, but enjoying it after all.
She has the same teachers as Isaac did for Pre-K!

First day of school.
Hard to believe I have a 2nd and 5th grader in the house.
Boy are they growing up fast.
I think they were both excited to get back to school, but of course would not admit it.
Kiley came to the bus stop with us and saw Kendrick off.
Boy is she going to be lonely during the day. . . or maybe she will enjoy the quiet?
